From there, I usually focus on fundamentals while I try and figure out where they are as a player and cater my instruction to what I discover. My style of lesson is like water.. No two students are alike. I must first test a beginner to see if they're tone deaf.. An advanced student is tested for any limitations or handicaps. Any good coach would study the student for any weakness, and formulate a viable plan to bridge the gap again to take them further faster.. Example: I have an 11 year old student that reads the pink panther very well, but has no clue what key he's in, or how to transpose etc. Read More

I always create a unique lesson plan for each student based of their age, skill, and most importantly the music style or genre they want to pursue. I approach every genre with a strong foundation in order to make repertoire more approachable, such as learning a variety of scales, developing good tone, and working on method or etude books to strengthen the range of possibilities on their instruments. I began teaching private lessons when starting college, and have maintained a studio of various woodwind students of various ages since 2011. In the time between then, I have been involved as a private instructor, small chamber coach, full band director, and covered any other position possible for many schools; I have ample experience in teaching and performing many styles common in the school system.
