I received my Master of Music degree in Flute Performance at Florida State University, where I also taught flute lessons and music classes as a Graduate Teaching Assistant. At the very beginning level I would start with fundamentals from whatever book I feel would be best for the student depending on their age and knowledge. For true beginners, it is so important to develop a strong foundation for breathing, posture, embouchure, and finger position.
