When I attended Rhode Island School of Design, I performed  flute and piccolo in the Brown University Orchestra and also studied flute at Boston University. Throughout the years, I have taken Master classes with Orchestral Flutists such as Julius Baker of the New York Philharmonic and Jeannie Baxtresser in Tanglewood, Mass. My teaching experience began in college when I tutored other music majors in music theory. I then went in to become a Choral teacher for grades 6-12. I taught privately for the past 25 years, teaching those grade levels and then began teaching senior citizens almost 10 years ago. Im currently a worship director for a church in the Leesburg area where I work with people of all ages. Ive played and sung in a band since I was in high school and I love teaching several different styles and techniques. Read More

I have been professional musician and a private teacher form many years. Ive travel the world playing Jazz, Broadway shows, Latin Music, Tango, Rock Pop. I have worked for 15 years in a Big Band that performed educational concerts and brought live performances and exposure to musical instruments to kinder gardens elementary middle and high schools that sometimes did not have the luxury of a music program. As a private music instructor I have noticed that many students specially adults that want to approach music through the saxophone get frustrated because they don't learn how to play music until they have learned how to play their instrument and many of them quit within the first year. For beginning students, I use the Trevor Wye beginning books and supplement with solos, etudes, songs and exercises that I give them which are appropriate for their level. For more advanced students, I will use etudes and methods/ solos which are appropriate for their level. For adults, I will find their interests and select a course of study with them.  With all students, I will assist with their school music or any ensemble/ solo music they wish.
