My teaching style prioritizes consistent, daily practice set in a musical context. Weekly lessons keep students active and involved in their drumming education, while assigned practice exercises promote gradual but steady improvement. Assigned practice exercises are designed to improve rudiment execution, hand and foot technique, and musical sensibility. As soon as the student feels comfortable with the instrument and is ready for the challenge, I will start to include play-along tracks or recorded songs in the practice rotation. Read More

I love building their confidence and knowing that my student is progressing faster than expected. Read More

I have a relaxed and fun style of teaching. I encourage the use of rudiments and fundamentals to build good playing habits and to build strength and speed. The student and I will make a list of songs and styles to work towards playing. Read More

I have been teaching percussion lessons since 2010, when I lived in Norfolk, Virginia. When I moved to Florida in 2013, I was a graduate assistant at Florida State University, an adjunct professor at Wallace Community College (AL), and an instructor at Mason's School of Music (K-8).
