Careful attention is placed on each student to ensure a custom lesson plan. After teaching myself theory at the age of 4, I received my first musical instruction in 6th grade. At that time I learned to play the flute. This is where my musicianship began to blossom and opportunities were sent my way. Thanks to my love and dedication, I was one of a few placed in special bands. Auditioning & being selected for choruses during this time increased as well. With my beginning students, I would start them off with a method book that would teach them the basic fundamentals of playing the drum set. I have many books, and I recommend certain books based on what the student wants to learn. Once they master the fundamentals, I would introduce them to solos and charts for performance practice. As early as I can I want them to be able to play simple melodies of songs that they recognize so they can see that they can do this and it will just get more fun along the way!
