I began teaching percussion immediately after high school. While attending EKU, I helped my former high school by teaching the percussion section during the marching band season. I taught the section every year for about 12 years before being hired as a full-time teacher and becoming the assistant director of the band. I still mainly focus on the percussion section every year, but my responsibilities have spread to assisting with other sections of the band as well. Read More

In college I began teaching drumlines over the summer for various high school programs. During that time is when I really began to fall in love with the teaching process and watching my students improve and grow as musicians. Shortly after I also began doing private guitar, rudimental percussion, and drum set lessons. I started playing professionally in 10th grade. My first gig was a theatre gig, which was the musical, Anything Goes. During high school I picked up more theatre gigs, including annual church pageants. I marched two years in Drum Corps International with the Kiwanis Kavaliers while I was beginning my degree in Music Education. During my time in school I taught three drum lines and brought several successful percussion ensembles to contest. Read More

For beginning students I select special lessons. I am careful to choose the appropriate music for each age. if there is a child, for me is very important the relationship with the parents, because they know a lot of goals from the child. For adults the communication is the fundamental thing, each have own aspirations. The topic for teach my students will be my passion. I began teaching drums and percussion around my senior year of high school (1999). For guitar/bass guitar, I began teaching sometime in 2009. I feel very fortunate regarding my teaching experiences. In the beginning and still today, I tend to spark a musical interest in people through performance -- and just as often -- conversation.
