I'm a very passionate Instrumentalist and Music Producer. I'm motivated to teach students the language of music and help them develop their own relationship with it just as I am. I began playing drums at 2 years old and Piano at 13. I took band from 6th grade to 10th grade where I studied Percussion and was introduced to Mallet-based percussion. I began playing the drums in local rock bands while in Jr. High School and High School in Miami, Fl. (1965-71). My friends father was a professional guitar player and teacher. He got me started with musicians that played gigs all over South Florida. Over the years I continued to develop a vast knowledge of various styles which kept me busy as a working drummer. My passion for working with students started in high school. I was a long time counselor at my high school's summer day camp and acted as a leader to a group of kids from 2nd grade to 4th grade. In college that passion, combined with my passion for music, led me to major in music education.
