My teaching methods are straight forward and effective. I always customize my lesson plans to fit the unique individual needs of each student. For guitar students, I use a mixture of classic rock and folk songs, scales, finger exercises, and improvising guitar solos to give a balanced and fun approach to the guitar. For piano students, fun songs that emphasize the proper hand placement and techniques are very important. As I mentioned above, one of my favorite parts about teaching is learning from my students. I encourage my students to take chances, perform often, and to not be afraid of making mistakes. I like to start out with new students by asking about them and what they want to learn and if they have any prior experience. I then like to make a custom lesson plan and practice schedule for my students, as well as book recommendations to work from.
