I am an instructor who is passionate and motivated about both music and teaching. While working on a degree in Psychology at Grand Valley State University in Michigan, I also studied music theory and other musical topics. I began playing bass guitar around 1978 and have played in bands, done session work and given music lessons in Michigan and the midwest ever since. My teaching experience dates back to my freshman year of college in 2013. I began teaching snare drum and drum set to one private student. As time went on through my undergraduate studies, I had a studio of twenty lessons students. Coupled with private lessons, I gained experience teaching high school percussion ensembles and I was a percussion instructor for marching bands.
