Our music lesson students will have the opportunity to take lessons from the comfort of their own home or in one of the teachers studios. Careful attention is placed on each student to ensure a custom lesson plan. I have found that the witnessing a student's development of a passion for music is a very rewarding experience. For each student to freely expressive their self through their music, it is important that they are allowed to progress at their own pace. I constantly evaluate where a student is at in their growth to ensure that material is challenging, but not frustrating. My teaching style provides an interactive learning environment for students. Each lesson challenges the student to achieve or surpass their goal. Students are free to ask questions, explore, and take risks while learning their instrument. Every lesson provides the use of Technology, audio, video, and the latest music software. I am a performer, teacher, composer, and creator. Music has always been an important part of my life and I love sharing my experiences and knowledge with students and audiences. I graduated from UNCG in spring of 2019 with a masters in percussion and have been freelancing and teaching in the Triad ever since. My goal isn't to teach music. My goal is to help my students grow to love music more, and teaching them music is just the means to that end. My teaching experience has been for as long as I've been playing. Before studying any particular type of pedagogical approach, I've always had the gift and desire to share what I know with others. Formalized study has simply given me specific nomenclature for things. Having said that, my pedagogical approach is simple...discern how the student learns and give them the information clearly in that fashion.
