I am a passionate Christian and motivated drum instructor who loves working with students and sharing my love of music. Since 2007 I've been apart of The Salvation Army Indiana Divisional Band. Since 2011 I have the pleasure of working as a freelance drummer. I also had the joy of working as a drum teacher at Cornerstone Center for the Arts (Muncie, IN). I am an avid music lover, performer, and teacher. I was lucky to study piano from a young age and have the amazing pre-collegiate experiences of appearing on MTV's Made and opening for the likes of McCoy Tyner, Chick Corea, and Bela Fleck. I then received a scholarship to Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA where I studied saxophone performance as well as piano, songwriting, and audio production. My teaching experience dates back to my senior year of high school 10 years ago.  My mother is a teacher, and got me my first job tutoring math for one of her teacher's assistants.  During the first couple of years, I had a number of math and music students and learned the benefit of tailoring my teaching methods to the individual rather than using a one size fits all teaching approach.  I try to listen to the student's interests and skills so that I can develop a practice routine that is both fun and beneficial for them specifically.  I also have found that the best teachers that I have had, exposed me to music that I would have never discovered on my own.  I believe that students should both enjoy their lessons and their practice.  I also firmly encourage them to perform and create their own original projects so that they are really experiencing and benefiting from their newly learned strengths.
