I have been teaching privately since 2010, when I accepted a position as a teaching assistant at Bowling Green State University. My responsibilities included teaching private lessons to undergraduate percussion majors and coaching percussion ensembles. I also began teaching students from middle school through high school age around the same time, and my students have since included those of adult age. I enjoy working with students of all ages and levels of experience, as they all bring something unique to their lessons and allow me to bring out aspects of my personality that will engage them best. Every student is different. Having only one teaching style would be very limiting and would eventually push some students away. I try to find out how each student best receives information, as well as what motivates them to play and become a better musician. From here I can form the lesson around the student's needs, making sure that we are both successful in the process. I try to have fun during lessons and create a personal bond with my students. I have a great passion for music, which I enjoy sharing with others through teaching, performing, composing, and recording. I have played in many different types of ensembles including marching, concert, pep bands, orchestras, pit orchestras, percussion ensembles, drum corps, rock, heavy metal, and country bands, as well as steel drum bands. I am a fun and easy going instructor who loves working with students of all ages. I graduated from London College of Creative Media in 2018 with a degree in performance and production. I also have a certificate in guitar. Performing in Europe was one of my greatest experiences while living overseas.
