I teach students of all age ranges therefore i design lessons based on my students current level of skills. I have many band method books as well as a large library of song books. I have many instruments on hand that are in playable condition . Since I have always believed that "one size does not necessarily fit all" I have found this to be a better approach to rapidly putting my students at the next level. Being able to read charts in marching percussion and drumset, in particular, will put you in a position of great demand when it comes to begin your professional career. At the beginning, students will be handed easy lessons learning how to gain control of the sticks and their hands. Withing 2-3 lessons, a book will be introduced and weekly homework will be given. My teaching style is relaxed. I don't want to have a student stressed out about learning. I will give weekly homework that I will expect students to work on . If a student feels over loaded, I am willing to adjust the amount of homework they receive. Read More
