I am a very patient and enthusiastic instructor who loves working with students just being introduced to the instrument, or already passionate about it. I recently graduated from Montgomery College, where I studied Jazz and a touch of orchestral percussion. I've been playing in bands since I was about 13, and have now played over 200 shows as well as toured most of the eastern half of the US. I started teaching while in college, beginning in 1987 and gradually progressed to teaching as a career in 1994. I have taught at the collegiate level at Shepherd University in Shepherdstown, West Virginia. I have also taught award-winning drumlines at Calvert Hall College, Lansdowne High School and Dulaney High School, all in the Baltimore metropolitan area.
