Instruments: Piano, Guitar, Voice, Drums, Bass Guitar, Synthesizer, Ukulele, Music, Keyboard, Electric Guitar, Acoustic Guitar

Nothing is more rewarding than seeing one of my students develop a passion for music! Therefore, it's important that each student progresses at his or her own pace. I encourage this by setting realistic goals for my students at each lesson. Acknowledging accomplishments helps fuel a students desire to progress, and makes students eager to learn more. By trying to find out what inspires the student, I can successfully tailor my instruction to their wants and needs while cultivating their craft to the ability desired. Read More

Instruments: Drums

I have always aspired to be a versatile drummer. Growing up I idolized drummers like Steve Gadd, Steve Jordan, Dennis Chambers, and many of the jazz and latin greats. I learned how to play many styles of music along the way including: jazz, soul, funk, rock, pop, blues, salsa, samba, candombe, afro-beat, reggae, symphonic percussion, and the avante garde. I am a strong believer in developing solid reading skills, learning and listening to many styles of music, and playing improvisationally. Read More

I also start working snare drum rudiments and focus on issues like grip and wrist stroke to ensure correct technique. I use a range of different books and material for drumset, according to where the student's skill level and musical interest is. Read More

I find that as useful as many of the methods that I have found most useful for my own performance are, almost every one of my students in drums, percussion and cello requires a different blend of study materials. As a general rule, I rely on providing a balance of classic (some teachers go as far as to say 'canonical') books, and a wide variety of unique listening and independence exercises I've developed over the years. Instruments: Drums, Mallet Percussion, Orchestral Percussion, Conga, Latin Percussion, Djembe

Nothing is more important to me than seeing my students develop not only their skills as a player but also true passion for music. Whether I'm working with a youngster or an adult, I always employ a kind, encouraging and patient teaching style. First and foremost, I aim to create a fun and relaxed learning environment. When a student is hitting a wall with a particular skill, I will then move on to something else, to then return to the skill after giving the student a mental break. Read More
