Our music lesson students will have the opportunity to take lessons from the comfort of their own home or in one of the teachers studios. Careful attention is placed on each student to ensure a custom lesson plan. Our music teachers understand that every student has different needs and abilities and therefore the lessons will be planned with that knowledge in mind.
lessons are available in the following areas:
Instruments: Saxophone, Flute, Clarinet, Recorder
With beginner saxophone, flute and clarinet students, I like to use 'Standard of Excellence' books (and typically 'Faber Piano Adventures' with beginner piano). I find that these books address the fundamentals, that are crucial to learn while young, in a fun way. Specific interests and styles can be explored too, while at the same time getting a well-rounded musical background. With more experienced players, I use a combination of materials with more emphasis on personal goals and interests. Read More

With more than thirty years of teaching experience to students of all ages, from beginners through advanced level, I can tailor your lessons to your unique interest and learning style, while providing a solid foundation for you to build on. My teaching style is, mastery. Learning a musical instrument is a physical, mental, emotional skill which can be learned by anybody. The better technique you have, the easier making music will be and the more enjoyable! I combine structured technique exercises with “Fun music”, whatever that may be for each individual student. For students in school, school music always comes first. The first thing that we talk about in lessons is student goals. Read More
Instruments: Clarinet
Each student in my studio is treated as an individual, with their own unique lesson plan tailored just for them. A typical lesson includes fundamentals (scales, articulation, embouchure), etudes, sight reading, solo repertoire, and duets....plus anything the student is working on in their current performing ensemble(s). I use a wide variety of method books like Learn To Play The Clarinet, Rubank Methods, Lazarus Method for Clarinet, Klose Celebrated Method for Clarinet, and a multitude of etude studies from Rose to Cavallini. Instruments: Saxophone, Flute, Clarinet
My style is to understand the needs of the student first and only then decide how to approach our lessons. Everybody needs to go at a different pace and not all students need the same things. I like to see my students become proficient sax players but I feel that the job is only complete when they become good musicians. The saxophone is an instrument with limitless possibilities and it is a joy to play when we see the results that we are looking for. Read More
