Over the years, I've learned that every single student learns differently in addition to going at their own pace. Anyone at any age CAN learn music! I've found that presenting multiple solutions to varying problems gives the students the best chance to succeed and it's not that someone cannot learn, they just haven't been presented with an explanation they can understand and clicks for them. I grew up taking private clarinet lessons in the Seminole county area, all the way through high school before I studied under Dr. Lynn Musco and Mrs. Jessica Speak at Stetson University. While pursuing my studies, I took various pedagogical classes such as Woodwind methods, and Pedagogy for Musicians, both of which I received A+'s in for my final grade. Near the end of my schooling, my instructors started to realize that they couldnt teach me much more, and suggested I go out on my own and start teaching kids what I know.
