Careful attention is placed on each student to ensure a custom lesson plan. For beginning woodwind students, I start with Hal Leonard's Essential Elements or whatever the student's school band book is. Once the student knows how to read music and can play enough notes, I like to introduce scales. This provides a good foundation for moving on to duets and solo pieces, which are more enjoyable to play.
