Our music lesson students will have the opportunity to take lessons from the comfort of their own home or in one of the teachers studios. Careful attention is placed on each student to ensure a custom lesson plan. Our music teachers understand that every student has different needs and abilities and therefore the lessons will be planned with that knowledge in mind.

Lessons are light, upbeat and informal, with many opportunities for parent participation if desired (when applicable). Students are encouraged to experiment with their instruments and to pursue their favorite musical styles. Adult Students are eligible for Performance Field trips and other learning opportunities at no extra cost. I am currently a Senior Music Education Major at Eastern Michigan University. I am a saxophonist in the EMU Wind Symphony, EMU Big Band, EMU Saxophone Ensemble, EMU Jazz Saxophone Sextet, Stone Tower Saxophone Quartet, Krangerson Duo, REMIX, and Funkwagon. I have also marched Quads for Impact Percussion, and the EMU Drumline. I also play drumset in several jazz combos. My methods are adaptable based on the student's previous or current instruction with private teachers or their school teachers. For all students I love to play along and model concepts for them. I involve a lot of kinesthetic movement based lessons along with visual and aural aids. I get to know the type of learner my student is and then plan my instruction to fit their learning style. I am a fan of etudes and short technical exercises as well as long tones for intermediate to advanced students. Read More

I believe the best teachers are those who are able to understand the aspirations of their students and are able to give them the info and methods to acquire their dreams. I try to set student specific goals and learning paths to give them what they need. I view music as a form of communication like other languages. To be literate with a language, one must be able to understand it when they hear it, be able to say their own thoughts, be able to read written language, and write their own thoughts. Read More
