While I try to follow a mostly K12 standard structure to my private lessons at the end of the day I will be tailoring my instruction to my students wants and needs. I like to set attainable weekly goals with my students in regards to technique and style that will be implemented via exercises, scales and into our repertoire. I have been playing the clarinet since 2007, and have been involved in teaching since 2016. I graduated from Southern Methodist University in 2017 with a Bachelor of Arts in Music, and am currently pursuing a Graduate Certificate in Chamber Music Performance at the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee. I have been teaching young clarinetists privately for nearly 8 years, and more recently began working as a clinician and teaching masterclasses at local schools. I prioritize curating diverse resources for teaching and performing, and am frequently trying new technique books and contemporary music for myself and my students. As a performer, I have made great progress through participating in chamber music, and so I encourage my own students to collaborate with their peers and frequently will play chamber music in lessons. In 2014, I graduated from the University of Milwaukee with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Saxophone Performance. Traveling all around the midwest has been one of the better experiences of my career as a musician, and I have had the chance to play both at Summerfest, as well as touring the United States in numerous shows as a musician with the european wind ensemble Blaskapelle Milwaukee, and my own jazz trio.
