My methodological procedures are determined solely on the level of the student and their performance ability. Oftentimes I tailor lessons that ive created in my past to create lesson plans for individual students. I oftentimes use action research methods in helping me determine whether or not the teaching method that is being used in the lesson is effective for the student receiving lessons. From there I met the leaders of the Yacht Rock Revue and went on to perform w Yacht Rock Schooner (still perform with regularly) and later Electric Ave! All of which are “high-level”, professional, touring festival bands. I continued my instructing career in official capacities as Intermediate Clarinet Instructor at the Potomac Wind Academy and as Clarinet Instructor at Colerain High School. Teaching independently and as a representative of a larger organization require different skills and I have developed these skills accordingly. My teaching experience began in high school where, as a junior, I began teaching middle school saxophone players. As I went through high school I began to realize that I had a knack for teaching young players one-on-one as opposed to a large classroom, this is what inspired me to study music performance as opposed to music education. When I moved to Kennesaw to change majors from Classical to Jazz Saxophone Performance, I realized how fortunate I was to now know how to teach both classical and jazz genres of my instrument.
