For beginning students who are children, I typically start with Suzuki Cello Book 1. Once the student has progressed to have a grasp of the fundamentals, I will begin to introduce solo repertoire tailored for each student depending on their skill level. For adults, I try to find out what the student is interested in, and guide my instruction accordingly to keep the lessons engaging and fun, no matter their ability level. Read More

My teaching experience is primarily in one on one or small group settings. I have taught several students as young as 10 years old. I am a patient and encouraging instructor who enjoys sharing music with people and working with students to teach music. I started my piano lesson at age of seven and cello at age of nine. I got my bachelor's degree from National Taiwan Normal University where the country I am originally from and my master's degree from Northern Illinois University. As a cellist, I regularly play in several orchestras around DFW area such as Richardson Symphony Orchestra, Irving Symphony Orchestra, and Plano Symphony Orchestra. Read More

For the beginning string player I like to start with a Hal Leonard method book to communicate and help string players master the basics. Once the student has progressed I will begin some solo repertoire from varying genres. I find it is always helpful to allow students to play music that they enjoy - experiencing a range of both popular and classical pieces to broaden their horizons. I encourage my students to do a lot of listening as a part of their practice. Read More

My music education experience includes serving as an elementary-middle school orchestra teacher, and being judge at the school district's concerto competition. Read More
