I encourage this by setting realistic goals for my students at each lesson. Acknowledging accomplishments helps fuel a students desire to progress, and makes students eager to learn more. Since I have a variety of instruments and style I teach and since the needs of each student are different, I structure my materials and teaching methods for the individual. I particularly enjoy teaching beginners and young children. I've taught piano from many books including John Thompson books and Hal Leonard Series. Both my mother and grandmother were pianists and teachers. I started playing the violin in 7th grade. It was a struggle for me to learn the instrument and how to read music, until I started taking lessons. I was taught using the Suzuki method and have used it to teach all of my students ever since.
