I earned my Associates Degree in 1984, in Music Performance, from Community College of Rhode Island. I've been playing bass guitar and double bass, professionally for over 35 years in various bands, groups, orchestras and with international stars such as Ray Charles and Andrea Bocelli. I've played in locations such as Boston, New York, Pittsburgh, Maryland, New Jersey, and as far west as Chicago an Detriot. If the student has never read sheet music, we will first do worksheets to learn how to read bass clef. If the student has taken another instrument, such as piano, there are some transferrable skills that will allow us to go through this process much faster. As we learn to read bass clef, we will explore the instrument, learn where notes are, and begin making sounds. For a creative activity, I encourage my students to relax and have fun while learning about the nuances of the music playing to comprehend the relationship between the theory and the performance. I believe that music learning is just like the alphabet, learning each letter by the time. My personal goal is to teach my students how to be performers and play beautiful music on the concert stage. A concert can be as little as one piece in a family dinner or a gig in a teacher while learning that we can captivate an audience and drive their emotions with our music. Read More

I started playing violin at the age of 4, and started teaching at 17. In 2003, I started playing viola, and in 2005, I started learning cello. In 2010, I graduated from Stetson University with a Bachelor of Music degree with electives in Psychology.
