At the very beginning level I would start with fundamentals from whatever book I feel would be best for the student depending on their age and knowledge. Beforehand I definitely will need to asses their knowledge so I can do so accordingly. I however will now focus on solely fundamentals and will try to include in songs that the student would like to learn as long as it is in the bounds of reality, the lessons I provide are only part of the equation and the real work is what is put in after the lesson. It is very important to see in each student personality. With their strengths and weaknesses. All lessons are conducted in a friendly and casual atmosphere.. I feel happy when I can help to understand a music, to grow up love for music in people's heart and can help to achieve goals in music for every student. Nothing could be more rewarding than see how your students develop passion for music and then can ignite a passion in others! Read More

My approach to teaching varies with the age level of each student. With younger students, imitation is often one of the best methods of learning and I prefer the Suzuki method for students up to age 8, especially with strings. For older children and adults, learning music notation and basic music theory for a full understanding of musical language are more important to get them to the level where they can learn any music that they want to play for fun. Each student is unique, and I never give the same music lesson twice. I like to set specific, realistic goals, and celebrate their achievement, and use a structure that is easily understood. Above all, optimism and a positive atmosphere are absolute requirements for every lesson, as I love to nurture the inner-musician as much as I love to train the outer-musician. Music is not made, if it is not loved. Read More

It is my desire to see students reach their goals by giving them a solid technical base upon which they can build their personal sound! I find that once the basics are down, it is so much fun to start to incorporate the student's specific desires (wanting to learn classical or pop). THAT is what makes practice so much fun. When you are passionate about what you are doing, you can't help but pick up your instrument and practice! Read More
