I take a split approach with students working on basics such as scales/arpeggios along with repertoire so students can develop multiple skills at one time. I approach technique for both cello and piano as the art of releasing tension in the body while achieving the desired sound of the instrument. My methods are mainly focused on the Suzuki books. I can thouroughly demonstrate each song in Suzuki book 1 to 10 and I lead the student from the beginning to the end of the coarse if the student is willing to commit to it. If not then I will lead the student to new materials outside of the Suzuki books that can be fun. I specialize in film tunes transposed for cello such as Harry Potter, Star Wars, Gladiator, Pirates of the Caribbean etc. however for those who prefer the traditional classical road, I may teach specific Baroques dances from the Solo Suites by Johan Sebastian Bach, Mozart, Haydn and Beethoven.
