I have been surrounded by music my entire life. My mother was a concert pianist and opera singer for many years, so I grew up attending rehearsals and experiencing music at its finest. I began my piano studies at age 2 and began playing the cello at age 14. I graduated from the University of Houston's Moores School of Music with a Bachelors of Music degree, with a concentration in cello performance. Read More

My education conveys the traditional and contemporary techniques of teaching and playing with the goal of performing. Read More

I started teaching when I was an undergrad in college. I've taught students of different ages with different personalities. If you want to learn an instrument, regular practice and lessons are required. Read More

For beginning students, I always start with Hal Leonard's Essential Elements. I've found this book to be the best at introducing the instrument and reading the music. I may or may not continue teaching out of the books (there's 3), but that depends on the student. By book 2 or 3 I usually begin introducing Suzuki, as there are many solo pieces for them. Suzuki is also great for teaching technique, which is essential to their skill-set. Read More
