I have travelled around the world singing in a variety of groups including classical, opera, gospel, pop and many other styles. For beginning students who are children, I typically start with Hal Leonard's Essential Elements and incorporate Position Pieces for Cello by Rick Mooney as they progress to higher levels of difficulty. Once the student has progressed to have a grasp of the fundamentals, I will begin to introduce solo repertoire appropriate for their first recital performance. Some highlights of my teaching career include working with A Gift for Music to give Title 1 schools access to the fine arts, being a cabin counselor and cello instructor for young musicians at Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp, and providing private lessons at The Orlando School of Music. All these experiences created a burning desire for higher fine arts education, culminating in my part in the co-creation of the Central Florida Cello Association, an organization which provides the UCF cello studio with multiple masterclasses a year given by world class artists and acclaimed educators. I attended Florida Atlantic University for 3 years where I studied Vocal Performance with a concentration in Opera and Musical Theatre. I now own my own vocal company where I promote vocal health and proper voice techniques for singing, stage presence, and performing. I am always involved in my local theatre whether it is through performing, coaching, or technical theatre, I love being able to share my gift and give others the opportunity to get to share theirs as well.
