Our music lesson students will have the opportunity to take lessons from the comfort of their own home or in one of the teachers studios. Careful attention is placed on each student to ensure a custom lesson plan. Our music teachers understand that every student has different needs and abilities and therefore the lessons will be planned with that knowledge in mind.

I don't not use practice/lesson books. Unless the student wants to use it , I don't insist. I approach each student differently . I take it at their speed. I started teaching back in college. I had a private studio of violin and piano students. I then took on after school strings classes as well as maintaining my studio. I graduated from college in 2006 and then I bagan my career for the next 7 years as an orchestra director in the public school system, which I enjoyed. For beginning students,on violin, viola and cello, I work with the Essential Elements and Suzuki books (depending on the student). They offer a lot of practical information, as well as beginning music theory for all string students. For my beginning violin and viola students, I only work with them through Essential Elements book 3. At that time, I would refer them to a teacher who's primary instrument is violin. Generally, we start with a quick assessment of where you are in the instrument, what pieces you can play and want to and/or need to get to play someday, I use a regimen of Cello " workouts" that will focus on improving overall and focus on areas we need to work the most on, each student is different and responds differently to different methods, though there are several etude books I use ( like Feullard's 60 daily exercises or poppers Highschool of cello, as well as some of Dotsauers 113 Studies ) which would also depend on our starting point. I began teaching music in high school when I worked as an teacher's assistant during group piano classes. I started teaching private cello and piano lessons shortly thereafter and continued to do so through college. After graduation, teaching music truly became my passion.
