After students have worked through this, we begin working on solo repertoire to get students excited to perform songs at their first recital! I began violin in 5th grade, and that started me down a path committed towards music teaching and learning. I had participated in every musical curricular and extracurricular offering- from Orchestra and Music Theory to Chamber Choir and Pit Orchestra. I have been teaching music in public schools for 7 years, and private lessons for 11. I currently teach high school choir and piano at Scranton High School during the week, and have taught all ages for strings for numerous years as well. My main instrument in undergrad was violin, with a minor in piano, and I have had extensive training and teaching experience on voice, viola, cello, and bass.
