I love watching my students grow and be inspired to play something they like! I do try to be sensitive to each student's learning pace. I always ask them if they have any questions and make sure I'm not going too fast for them, or too slow. I do my best to praise my students when I can tell they have worked hard and I try to keep them inspired and motivated to keep going and try to get something to the next level. Read More

For my teaching style, I have a very organic approach. The main goal as a teacher is to develop a passion for the instrument and the music. My goals as a teacher are to 1) bring students to the highest level of technical ability they are able to attain, and 2) develop in the student the highest level of musicianship possible through theory and ear training. Working with students of all ages inspired me to have high expectations of them, and to motivate each one of them to be the best musician and student they can be. Read More

I teach with an emphasis on tone and sound production. I believe that once we know what sound we want to create we are better able to physically make it happen. Through this ideology I use the Suzuki method and like to prioritize listening and playing by ear before note reading when the students are young beginners. Even if the student is older, I like to incorporate ear training with a mixture of all the skills we must master as musicians--note reading, sight reading, improvising, etc. Read More
