For bass guitar I use the Mel Bay Bass Guitar Method which takes a student from creating rocking bass lines to building kicking bass licks from chord changes.Double Bass students will have classical training, techniques to build a solid, warm tone, use of the bow, and orchestral repertoire, including solo pieces. At my professor's request, I taught college music students who were not music majors, and was also substitute teacher for a music class of my peers at the university. I am a passionate instructor who enjoys working with students of all ages. I started performing, professionally, at a very young age, during my 6 years at the Alabama School of Fine Arts. From there, I attended the Louisiana State University, as a cello performance major and performed with the school symphony, as well as the Alexandria Symphony, the Lake Charles Symphony and local venues. I went on to get my Master's degree at Georgia State University and then returned to Louisiana State University for my final degree in Cello Performance. Read More

While I am new to teaching, I am hoping to create a comfortable environment where students do not feel rushed to complete pieces or practices, and we will always move at the students pace. If a student is not yet ready to move on to the next piece, then we will continue polishing whatever they need before moving on.
