I encourage students to set goals for each week and complete them. If your children want to learn the cello, I will use encouragement and play as a way to introduce music. Being a friend with them, introducing and getting to know the cello in this way is an important criterion for me. I hope everyone can learn the piano happily and enjoy the fun of playing the cello. Hello! I'm a life-long cellist with solo, ensemble, and orchestral experience. I graduated from Indiana University in 2007 with majors in cello performance and journalism. Over the course of my musical career, I have performed with the Fairbanks Symphony Orchestra, the All-Northwest Orchestra, the Interlochen World Youth Symphony Orchestra, the Indiana University Orchestra, the Henderson Symphony Orchestra, and the Denver Philharmonic. I am a firm believer that each and every student with the excitement to learn can succeed. That said, everyone moves at their own pace and responds differently when learning new skills. Therefore, I have learned to adapt to the student and tailor my instruction so that they are comfortable in the learning process. Some students are more quiet than others, but I still encourage my students to ask questions and talk through the problems they encounter. Read More
