My teaching experience started after college, teaching a family friend bass guitar. From there I realized I could just as well teach guitar, piano, and saxophone as well. My teaching experience started in 2005 while still in high school, and I have been teaching consistently every since. While teaching I try to foster a fun and informative enviorment. For me playing guitar is one of the most fun and enjoyable things I've found. So teaching is my way of sharing the gift and joy that is music. I try to help students find that joy inside themselves too. Since I am so passionate about music I enjoy talking about it and sharing it with others which makes me engaging and enthusiastic teacher. Through college I have given lessons to those around me fascinated by the bass and how to play as more than just a typical bass. My teaching style has been described as one that rewards hard work and dedication, but leaves room for experimentation and fun. I believe that each student has unique gifts to offer the world, and it is my job to uncover them through a combination of connecting to the individual as a person and allowing their personality and aptitude to shine. My goal is always to inspire my students to want to learn, instead of fostering an environment where they feel forced into it. Read More
