I like to keep a fun and positive environment during my lessons. The student is encouraged to share his or her musical interests, as we will focus on the style and genre the student is interested in. Practicing is definitely important to success as a musician, but we will work together to find an appropriate level of commitment. This is a stress free zone. Anything else will hinder creativity and motivation, two key ingredients to musical success! Read More

My teaching methods are straight forward and effective. I always customize my lesson plans to fit the unique individual needs of each student. For guitar students, I use a mixture of classic rock and folk songs, scales, finger exercises, and improvising guitar solos to give a balanced and fun approach to the guitar. For piano students, fun songs that emphasize the proper hand placement and techniques are very important. I always stress proper technique at the beginning so that students build the right habits and don't need to correct them later on. Read More

I have been a professional musician for almost 20 years, four of which I spent playing trumpet, guitar, bass, and singing in the US Marine Corp Band. For the last decade, I have made my living as a multi-instrumentalist and singer, entertaining thousands on stages across the country and around the world. Read More

Learning songs by ear and understanding why certain pieces of music function the way they do can enable a student to learn more on their own and interact more with other musicians. I tend to start by learning to read some sheet music, and depending the instrument place a good deal of importance on learning chords. Read More
