As students grow in ability and age, I engage their interests more so their instruction is more fulfilling. For adult students I seek to find what the students is most interested in (classical, jazz, rock, bass nova, etc.), and then go from there in terms of finding repertoire and creating my own custom lessons plans, centered around the student's goals. For beginning students who are children, I typically start with a method book geared specifically for children. My journey in music started at the age of 5 when my mother mandated that my brothers and I learn piano. I didnt really begin a passion for it until the age of 12 when I first started guitar lessons in the Pittsburgh with an instructor who would become my most influential mentor in the area of music. I am careful to choose the appropriate music for each age. if there is a child, for me is very important the relationship with the parents, because they know a lot of goals from the child.
