I use both classics and popular songs to teach reading, theory, ear-training, and improvisation. Not only did I learn about midi and music industry standards, I also had the opportunity to work with really amazing artists. One of my professors Mike Lacopelli was the recording engineer for Parliament as well as ran live sound for Aretha Franklin for 8 years. Later in my college career I began playing synthesizer with a band and working for Delta States Studio. Since then, my teaching has mostly been limited to interested family and friends because I wanted to make sure I had a solid method together to facilitate musical growth.
