My methods are unique and effective. First I share with my students the history and culture of the instrument. Then I teach how the instrument works, explaining every detail. I took informal guitar lessons from rock n roll musicians who couldn't read music while I was in middle school/high school, and I took classical lessons while in college from professors who couldn't improvise in more than one or two styles (or sometimes none).
