Throughout high school I was a teachers assistant to my band and choir directors and frequently led sectionals, class activities or solo lessons. I start beginning students with both a method book and a blank manuscript which we use to journal weekly. The method book is to instill a variety of fundamental skills while the manuscript (or materials saved and shared in google drive) is used to be a fun way of focussing and developing each student's individual trajectory. I am not just the teacher, I am also the student. My job as such is to learn how best to communicate and deliver what the student wants to learn. I do this by focusing on how each particular student learns best. No two people are the same and neither should be the lessons delivered to them.
