I am an advocate of what Walt Disney once said about our society: “Our greatest natural resource is the minds of our children”. Taking 30 years of professional experience, just as much time parenting, combining that with an exemplary graduate education program and a passionate belief in the “value” of education, I look to synergize my experiences by molding and inspiring my students to become lifelong learners; making them capable of achieving far more than they ever thought possible. I look to inspire my students to wonder, to question, to constructively criticize and to see themselves for who they can truly be. I have come to realize that while I have interacted with people of all ages, backgrounds, religious/ethnic beliefs and socio-economic classes throughout my life, the most fulfilling moments in my life have been those spent around children…my own and other’s. It has been the involvement with children and young teens at my church and in my local school district with educational programs, musical and social programs that has made a difference in the quality of my life, and hopefully theirs.
My teaching style is engaging, differentiated and high-energy. I work to be effective by setting expectations, activating prior knowledge, maintaining flexibility, providing timely and constructive feedback, incorporating technology, teaching by example, and establishing a safe, comfortable atmosphere in my classroom. My goal is to make my students work harder than they thought they ever could, to enjoy their learning experiences, to stay focused, engaged and to embrace the notion: If you develop strong “brains”, and you always follow your heart… you will make a difference in this world!
• High energy, dedicated educator with 40 years professional experience planning and executing multi-disciplinary programs utilizing strong organizational and interpersonal skills. • Exceptional communicator with the ability to reach across a diverse continuum of learners, including students, parents and professionals. • Involved parental background with a passion for creating a stimulating atmosphere, differentiating instruction based on student needs and providing a constructive, encouraging environment where children will become successful learners.
I take my students' individually, getting to know both their strengths & weaknesses and I then design a custom program for each based on their learning styles. Every person is unique and has different goals when learning to play piano and/or sing...I address each of them. I work with parents to encourage and support lessons, practice and performance. I am an active listener...that means I will work to help both students and families achieve their desired results. The final piece of my method is FUN! It's so important for lessons to be enjoyable!
I am engaging and deeply involved with each student's style and circumstance. I will model for my students and implement multi-media lessons as deemed necessary. I am a believer in repetition and daily practice schedules. I will encourage both parents and children to agree on whatever schedule is required. The key to successful teaching is to continue developing a student's passion for music. Once a child has a love of music, the rest is simple...keep enjoying what you are doing and you will get better at it!
Wayne is patient with children and excellent in motivating kids to play!
Mr. Wayne is very patient and so wonderful with teaching my son piano. I would recommend him to all my friends and family.
Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.Ok
Are you sure that's your only availability? The more availability you easier it will be to arrange a teacher for you.
