BM in Violin Performance and Music Education from Columbus State University
I was born in the former Soviet Union in 1982. My family and I moved to the states in 1991 and have lived in the Atlanta area ever since. I have been classically trained in violin since the age of 3, and I also picked up the piano and guitar as I got older. I have been teaching music for 12+ years, and my instruments include: violin, viola, piano, and guitar. I also tutor in Music Theory and Music History.
In high school I have played with various music orchestras including the Atlanta Sumphony Youth Orchestra, All-State Orchestra, and Gwinnett Symphony Youth Orchestra. I have been teaching violin, guitar, and piano for 12+ years privatelly and for diffferent schools. I also serve as the music director at King David Community Center, creating curriculum for children and senior citizens. In addition, I own and operate my own recording studio where I work with a Grammy Winning producer and mixer and compose scores for independant films.
Each students needs a different approach. Some understand things differently than others, and its the teachers responsibility to analyze and exploit the best approach in order to achieve success.
My style of teaching revolves around a solid foundation in technique and proper ways to practice. This is the hardest part about having music lessons, because its all about muscle memory. I advise learning the basics before jumping straight into learning songs. Again, its very important to play the right way, and more importantly, practice the right way. Another thing that I teach is that failure is not bad in itself, but its only part of the process that lets a sudent know what to work on. Many times, failure is a result of certain muscles and movements not being trained yet, and not something that is out of reach. When learning how to play an instrument, patience is a must.
Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.Ok
Are you sure that's your only availability? The more availability you easier it will be to arrange a teacher for you.
