I am a highly motivated and experienced educator who loves teaching with humor and creating fun, fun, FUN! I was born in Europe and am experienced in many different cultures and music styles. I would love to take my future students to a music adventurous trip around the world. During my numerous years as a church Music Director I have taught kids from 5 to 94 and in the process we learned a lot, worshiped and laughed together. During my years of teaching in different colleges and universities I learned to relate to young people and their visions and believes. I am comfortable in teaching students of diverse talent and abilities and I firmly believe that everybody can improve their sound and also satisfy their soul search.
My teaching experience began rather early in my life when I was an eight grader chosen to assist the music teacher in a professional music school, where numerous music subjects were taught. Later I was chosen to participate in music Olympics in Europe. During my studies towards my degrees I was teaching for many years, since I always was a teaching assistant teaching both young people and adults. During my teaching I work on the principles of good sound production and use appropriate exercises, but my main focus is to convey the emotion and powerful feelings coded in different music styles and compositions.
For beginning students weather they are children or adults I like to introduce the basics of music notation. The ability to read music facilitates the student's skills to improve faster. However I do not object teaching music by ear, I even taught a blind student who learned everything by ear and was excellent in her achievements. I do consider the teaching of music a serious and inspirational opportunity but I also like to involve humor and to make sure that both the students and I have a delightful time and experience. I like to introduce a great variety of repertoire but I also consider the students' preferences and taste.
I like to accommodate each student, to help him/her with the problematic areas and to promote and encourage the successful areas of their field. In addition to various physical exercises I like to choose repertoire which allows the students to shine with their strength and gain more and more confidence. Since each student has a different personality and talent I like to adjust my teaching style accordingly. My main goal is to help the students to further develop and blossom their existing love of music and to receive encouragement through realistic but kind and polite comments and acknowledgement from me and from the audiences during their performances.
Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.Ok
Are you sure that's your only availability? The more availability you easier it will be to arrange a teacher for you.
