From learning on the streets to playing on stages to studying music in 3 colleges and working in the record business at Caroline Distribution, MCA, Geffen and Engine/Blackout Records as well as working as a touring stage manager and personal assistant with Peter, Paul and Mary and being the member of dozens of performing/recording bands including my position as a founding member of the Metal Blade recording artist, Gypsyhawk and being listed in the Encyclopedia Metallum and having toured and performed at the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts with a theater troupe and my work with soundtracks and original compositions/recordings, I have had and continue to pursue the muse in my widely varied and exciting career in music. My BA from Harvard is in Folklore and Mythology, and I am a professional storyteller. For nearly 30 years, I have also been an elementary school teacher. During four of those years, I was a public school music teacher, but music and the arts were always fundamental to my integrated approach. I received training in the Montessori Method, and have applied it to my musical lessons as well . I have designed curriculums that work in phases according to the skill level of the student. In the beginning stages the curriculum is designed primarily based around the music theory required for playing the instrument at a high level. The lessons bounce back and forth between theory introduction and theory application. This continues throughout the beginning lessons, going from method to method accordingly.
