ABOUT
Degrees / Training / Special Info:
MA, Webster University,  Orchestral Conducting BM, Webster University, Music Performance (Horn)
Awards:

2016 - Certificate of Completion (New York Conducting Institute) 2013 - Certificate of Completion (Florence Conducting Masterclass) 2007 - Performed with the Vienna Horn Society in Vienna Austria

Overview:
In May 2008 I received a Bachelor of Music degree in Horn Performance; and in May 2011 a Master of Arts degree in Orchestral Conducting. Along with both degrees I have studied philosophy of music and composition. A few of my compositions can be found in Green United Music’s Motion Tracks library for film producers, editors, and directors in Paris, France. I have performed as a horn player, pianist, and conductor in the United States, Austria, and Italy. The groups I have performed/worked with are: Webster University Symphony, Wichita State University Symphony, Vienna Horn Society, Orchestra da Camera Fiorentina.
EXPERIENCE
Diverse Experiences: Twelve years working as a music director (church, orchestral, contemporary, and musical theatre), with elementary and secondary schools, universities, professional and community groups. Two years with the St. Louis Symphony as a assistant music librarian, proofing and editing scores in many genres. For the past three years I've held positions as an educator and administrator; building music programs and writing curriculums for elementary and secondary schools, and universities, and acting as Coordinator of Student Experience for 9th and 10th graders. I currently teach Music History, AP Music Theory, Composition/Computer Music, Concert Band, Choir, and Contemporary Music Ensemble.
METHODS USED
Technique Theory Musicianship (ear training, sight reading) History My teaching style includes rigor and vigor. I am very relaxed, and my biggest goal is that my students gain an appreciation for all kinds of music. I focus on technique, music theory, building musicianship skills through sight singing and ear training, and I incorporate music history into the curriculum. I set goals for my students at each lesson, and I keep them engaged and eager to learn more. I try to get to know each student, what they like and what inspires/motivates them. This way, I can tailor my instruction to their wants in needs. Doing this will enhance their love and appreciation for music.
