BAM, The College of New Jersey, Music Education with a Concentration in Oboe
I am passionate about creating a fun and comfortable learning environment for all of my students. I can provide beginner lessons on saxophone as well as all levels of flute, piccolo and oboe. I began my music career on flute in 4th grade. In high school, I realized music was going to be my career and lifelong passion. Junior year of high school I switched to oboe. I was very active in the music department in high school. I was a member of Marching Band, Concert Band, Wind Ensemble, Wind Symphony, Jazz Band, Pep Band, and numerous musicals.
After auditioning for numerous colleges I decided on The College of New Jersey (TCNJ) in Ewing, NJ. My rapport with my own Oboe Professor is one that I hopes to bring to my students. During my time at TCNJ I participated in the Concert Band, Orchestra, Wind Ensemble and Woodwind Quintet which all led up to my Senior Recital. The Senior Recital consisted of 25-35 minutes of prepared music, mostly solo work with a piano accompaniment. I am now a graduate of TCNJ with a degree in Music Education with a few private students of my own on flute, oboe and saxophone.
For beginning students, I usually begin in the red Standard of Excellence Book. We work through this book and the blue Standard of Excellence Book. If the student is grasping the knowledge in the blue book, I will begin introducing solo repertoire. I usually switch over to the Accent on Achievement Book 3 to fine tune their musical knowledge.
As previously stated, I try to create a fun and comfortable learning experience for my students. I also believe in creating a well rounded lesson that includes scales, technique, and an etude or excerpt. Attainable goals should be set after each lesson to give the students something to strive for. I want to be able to fuel their fire for becoming a great musician.

Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.
OkAre you sure that's your only availability? The more availability you easier it will be to arrange a teacher for you.
