July 2014 Cascada in the Merry Widow , Pocket Opera
I am musician with experience in both voice and piano. I have two degrees in vocal performance and several years of experience playing in Jazz, R&B and Pop bands for many years. In addition, I served as the Minister of Music for Saint John Missionary Baptist Church in Long Beach. Also, I was a keyboardist for Reigning Life Fellowship and Christ Our Redeemer in Long Beach and Irvine. I have performed The Pirate King in The Pirates of Penzance, Junius in The Rape of Lucretia, Bob in The Old Maid and The Thief, Figaro in Le Nozze di Figaro, Fiorello in Il barbiere di Siviglia, Imperial Commisario in Madama Butterfly, as well as The Tinman in The Wiz. This summer I will make my professional debut singing Cascada in The Merry Widow with Pocket Opera. I've also sung the bass solo in Beethoven’s Choral Fantasy with the First Congregational Church of Ann Arbor. I've sung for The Links Incorporated at their regional and national conventions in Washington D.C and Orlando, including singing before Condoleezza Rice. Always eager for acquiring knowledge, I've attended summer training programs that include the International Lyric Academy in Rome and Viterbo and Opera in the Ozarks.
I'm a dedicated and caring young teacher who truly enjoys sharing my musical experiences with others. I began teaching voice and piano students in January of 2011 with a private music studio in Orange County. In addition to working for that company in Orange County I also worked with the Orchepia School of Music. I instructed students from as young as six to as old as twenty-one.
I like to assess where the student is before I make assignments. I also try to find out what is of interest to the student and try to tailor rep assignments to their wants and needs.
I like to establish healthy and sufficient techniques. In addition, I believe that choosing the right repertoire is just as important. The repertoire that is performed should be choosen carefully and should address certain needs and technique.
Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.Ok
Are you sure that's your only availability? The more availability you easier it will be to arrange a teacher for you.
