Music is my life and teaching drums and percussion is something I live for. I love sharing my passion with the rest of the world. I have been playing drums since I was 5 years old and teaching privately since my high school days. I have travelled internationally with prestigious groups such as the Children of Uganda, Spirit of Uganda, Richland Percussion Group and Santa Fe University of Art and Design's Contemporary Music Program. I have been there, done it and taught it to thousands of people that share the same passion as I do.
I started teaching way back during my high school. I started off as piano and musicianship tutor but later switched to my first love; drums and percussion. I have taught all different age groups and different people from Africa and the USA. I value my students so much and their success is my success as well. I love passing on my knowledge to other people just like my father taught me my very first African drum (Ngoma)
I try to make my lessons as much fun as possible incorporating listening to music, clapping, body drumming, even dancing. I want my begginer students to develop a good sense of rhythm. We then go on to fundamentals and progress slowly until we get to play alongs.
I believe in creating a very comfortable environment for my students, an atmosphere that encourages them to be self-motivated and driven to become better musicians. I encourage my students to practice, play inspiring chops for them and demonstrate to them as slowly as possible for them to get every bit of it, and show them some inspiring performances as well.
Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.Ok
Are you sure that's your only availability? The more availability you easier it will be to arrange a teacher for you.
