Composer for 'These Girls' feature.

At least 40 to 50 radio appearances as well as dozens of TV appearances.  The last being with Ottawa up-and-coming new-country  singer Jordan MacIntosh doing the morning TV show circuit in Canada.

Over the decades, there has been much session work.  Almost as much from the secondary instruments as the guitar.  Banjo is a big favourite of producers.  In the nineties alone in Montreal he played on over 7 video game titles, living just a short walk from the Ubisoft studios. Two NFB documentaries, tv music, bumpers and stingers for news broadcasts, etc. and his playing is most probably on millions of units

Overview:
Hi! I'm a Long Beach based songwriter, producer and multi-instrumentalist (guitar, bass, banjo, mandolin, pedal steel and slide). I began studying the guitar at the age of five.  A long-shot demo tape of classical guitar earned me a ticket to Boston’s prestigious Berklee College of Music doing a doubler major in performance and engineering. I graduated in 1991. I've played lots of music professionally and made my living by music. Not just the guitar, Music. I also like to have fun with it and that's the biggest part of it.
EXPERIENCE
I've been teaching for 30 years now.  I was always pretty good at it.  Music was introduced to me as a fun thing to do. People need to see that it can be fun at the beginning because earning an instrument can be overwhelming.  I've taught kids as young as 6 (which is tough) to a man 79 years old.  He was great. I like to get the parent involved if possible, because kids need supervised practice.  You'll hear me say that a lot. The same thing applies to adult students, although it is a lot easier for me to teach an adult than a child. I've been at this 40 years now, so I know how to get people going quickly, which is important because as I've said, you need to get to the fun quickly with music.
METHODS USED
Being from Berklee, it would follow that I teach that system, but there's as many ways to teach lessons as there are students.  Lessons have changed a lot over the years.  The internet and technology has really opened things up, so again, it depends on the age of the students, what they want from music, how much time they have to put into it, etc.
LESSON STYLE
I teach music first and instruments second.  Kids (and adults) can acquire motor skills anytime and virtuoso technique on the violin is hardly useful in a orchestra setting or improvised music setting.   The problem I usually run into with kids is when they find out their favorite song doesn’t even have guitar. This happened when a young man wanted to learn a rap song and was convinced they had guitar because the rapper strapped one on in his video. He just wanted to be the rapper, not be a guitar player.  There’s a difference between wanting to be a rock star and wanting to be a good musician. Both are equally valid.  Just make sure your child is honest with himself and you about it and everything will work out fine.  I can teach those kids too.  Any child who wants to integrate music into their expression I can teach something to.  When you introduce a child to musical form and time early on you build a canvas of sorts which is an especially good vehicle for some individuals. Having said that, they won’t be idling.  I do teach technique, and they will aquire it. Music is an exceptional discipline builder, maybe the best in my opinion. In the end I try to teach them how to teach themselves. The way I see it, the more a kid has an instrument in his hands and is interested in playing it, we’ll all be better off.
