Overview:
I started playing the piano when I was only 4 years old. As a child, I had a great passion for learning different music styles, such as classical, pop, jazz, traditional and so on. I started performing formal and informal concerts from a very young age and until this day I have performed various recitals and chamber music concerts in different countries throughout the world. I have been the recipient of many awards, prizes, and scholarships. She has been a two-time recipient of William Richards Memorial Scholarship in 2015 and 2016 CSUN’s Department of Music Honors Convocation. I have also successfully made it to the Dean’s list for four consecutive semesters (fall and spring) in 2015-2016. I have been recognized as teacher of the year by California Music Studios, where I used to teach in San Diego, CA and have also won many prizes in piano competitions in her home country, Iran. I began teaching piano and voice more than twelve years ago and since then, I have been spending most of my time teaching music. I love to combine my energy and passion for music with the enthusiasm and positive energy that different students with different personalities and musical skills bring to the lessons. I have had a privilege of traveling to European countries and cities, such as Switzerland, Vienna, Russia, and Armenia, and to participate in different master classes of some of the greatest masters in this field. My great passion for music has led me to study this major academically.
EXPERIENCE
I started teaching piano and voice more than thirteen years ago and since then, I have been spending most of my time teaching music. I have had the privilege of traveling to European countries and cities, such as Switzerland, Vienna, Russia, and Armenia, and to participate in different master classes of some of the greatest masters in this field. My students are encouraged to enter competitions and recitals as well as make their own music and enjoy the process! Through these ways, they can feel good about their accomplishments and stay motivated to learn.
METHODS USED
I plan for each lesson separately and individually. The lesson plan and method depend on student's age, level, as well as his/her interests. I use different method books for younger beginners and adults and always try to make the lessons as fun and enjoyable as possible. Because that's what music learning is all about: enjoying what you learn and loving what you play. I am familiar with latest teaching methods and choose them depending on each student's goal and the style of music he/she wants to learn.
LESSON STYLE
I love combining my energy and passion for music with the enthusiasm and positive energy that different students with different personalities and musical skills bring to the lessons. Nothing is more rewarding than seeing one of my students develop a passion for music. It's very important to me that each student progresses at his or her own pace. I encourage this by setting realistic goals for my students at each lesson. Acknowledging accomplishments also helps fuel students desire to progress and make them eager to learn more.
