I am a motivated Guitarist with extensive knowledge in music education and performance. I have a Bachelors of Arts Degree from Cal State LA where I emphasized in Classical Guitar performance. 10+ years of guitar experience playing both classical and contemporary styles. I regularly perform on Electric, Acoustic and Classical guitars. I am educated in the classical repertoire and modern music as well. My favorites are Indie Rock, Folk, Worship, Rock, Pop and country. I also can teach Music theory and music history to those students who are interested.
I have been playing guitar for over 10 years and teaching for over 5. I have experience teaching all ages and skill levels. During my education I have been involved in a number of ensembles playing styles like: Jazz, Rock, Classical, Mariachi and Country. I have a real pasion for teaching music. It is my job to get you where you want to be as a musician.
A base my teaching method according to each individual students experience, interests and age. I use a variety of books according to the interests of the students. For classical guitar students I focus half the lesson time on building site reading skills and focus the rest of the lesson on learning pieces of music for performance. With contemperary music I start by teaching the open chords on the guitar and use popular music as a way to incorporate the newly learned chords.
My number one goal is to make sure music is FUN! I believe in making the learning experience enjoyable. I am a laid back person but I am also extremely organized and always well prepared. After studying with me for 6 months you will be able to write your own songs, play popular chord progressions and lead lines. If you study classical guitar with me you will be able to site read at a intermediate level and perform at least 5 pieces. Anything can be achieved if you put your mind to it and work hard and practice. Its my passion to get you where you want to be as a musician!
Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.Ok
Are you sure that's your only availability? The more availability you easier it will be to arrange a teacher for you.
