Master degree in Flute performance and graduated from Tchaikovsky Conservatory of Music, Ukrain.
Bachelor of Music Education an graduated from Jianghan' s University.
I am a passionate and motivated instructor who loves working with students and sharing my love of music. In 2005, I graduated from Tchaikovsky Conservatory of Music in Ukraine with a Master of Arts degree in Flute performance. From 2005 to 2012, I was a professional flute lecturer at school of Music of Southwest University in China. I was also the principal flute of the Chongqing Youth Orchestra. I immigrated to Texas at the end of 2012. Performing all over the world has been one of the greater experiences of my life as a musician, and I have had the opportunity to play in Richardson City Hall, Eisemann Center, as well as the principle flute of the Chongqing Youth Orchestra in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. My teaching studio is located in McKinney.
My experience dates back to my college days, as I began teaching private lessons part time in 1996. At that time, I was studying Education of Music at Jianghan University. When I was teaching at school of Music of Southwest University, I taught my students not only in class, also instructed them to play flute in the orchestra. After coming to Texas in 2012, I taught flute lessons in Texas Performing Chinese Arts Association. My teaching experience is more than 20 years. Encouraging regular practice on a consistent schedule is one of the key points I like to emphasize for all students, as it tends to help the students get good progress and result. I have also found that a combination of classical and modern music can go a long way in helping students enjoy the flute. I am always looking to bring on new students of all ages.
For beginning students who are children, I usually start with scale exercises and eluders of G Gariboldi. Once the students has progressed to have a grasp of the fundamentals, I will give introduce solo repertoire for their flute performance. For adults, I will try to find out what the student is interested in, and understand the motivation or purpose of their learning. I can create unique custom lesson plans for the students of different ages. This is very important for students, because each student has different learning abilities, so letting them play to their strengths can achieve positive results.
There are two main style of my teaching style: Demonstrator and Hybrid. To many extents, flute teaching requires the teacher's demonstration and hand-on guidance. For example, the playing posture, the correct position and movement of the fingers. The sound of flute and lip shape need to be demonstrated by teacher and corrected at any time. I adopt an integrated teaching style that incorporates their personality, preferences and interests into my teaching. I am able to tailor my teaching for different pupils, incorporating extra-curricular knowledge to develop a deeper of a particular topic. My teaching purpose is to let students find out how to play flute and enjoy the fun of playing at same time.
