Overview:
Michelle has been surrounded by music since her infancy, and since then has continuously branched out to learn new styles and genres of this universal art of entertainment. A violinist, pianist, singer, and songwriter, Michelle is a wonderful fury of energy to be reckoned with - and her professional experience is equally as diverse as her talent. She has performed as a guest artist with Riuniti Opera, Near East Music Ensemble, The Erick Bolivar Band, Luis Eric Gonzalez, world-reknown jazz/pop trumpet player David Longoria, and has recorded violin and vocals for many tv cues and jingles. Her most recent singing credits include "9 to 5" on the Soundtrack of The Dictator with Sasha Baron Cohen, as well as violin for latin pop artist Erick Bolivar's "Amar Solo es Amar" (music video is currently in production). A true firework on the stage, Michelle exudes a dynamism and flare that is uniquely hers, and is known to contribute an undeniable positivity to her music workshops, collaborations, and concerts. It is with much joy and enthusiasm that she shares her knowledge of music & performing arts with her fellow colleagues and students!

METHODS USED
No two students are ever alike. I've learned that using only one method may not benefit all students. Therefore, I use a variety of methods, some of which include Hanon, the Bastien Series, Suzuki technique for Piano and Violin, and countless others depending on what the student wishes to achieve. I have found that my most successful (and satisfied) students are the ones that express to me their specific musical goals, and then I am able to find a combination of methods to help them practice, rehearse, and refine their style of interest.
LESSON STYLE
I tailor my lessons to my student's needs, style, abilities, and goals. Learning is truly a fun and passionate adventure for me, and my enthusiasm has consistently been a contagious quality :) I love to challenge myself & my students to discover how immense their true potential is, and I create a safe and fun environment to explore such facets. My curriculum is combination of solid tradition (Suzuki method for piano & violin, and Bel Canto technique for singing) interwoven with pop-culture, and modern influences. Within the first 3-6 months, my students will know the basic building blocks of music - which includes scales, arpeggios, triads, intervals, technique, and performance repertoire; and for my singers this will include proper breath technique, tone placement, support, very often increased vocal range (both high and low), and will feel significantly stronger vocally and more confident getting up to sing. Lessons are uniquely tailored to the students' goals, be it to become functional with an instrument or to dominate at an audition. We will go through warm-ups that will place emphasis on technique, explore various methods so that the student may decide which one gets them the best result, and then work through the repertoire not only for proficiency, but also for interpretation, precise yet passionate phrasing, and of course, to discover the joy of performing/playing Music.
